The Annex, with its rolling hills and tree-lined streets, is located at the southernmost point of the city and is just minutes from Albany, El Cerrito and Berkeley. Conveniently located near both BART and AC Transit, many of the Annex’s amenities are within walking distance for residents, including popular parks, shops, restaurants, bars, movie theatres, a natural foods grocery store, and the Pacific East Shopping Mall. The area is also home to one of the largest off-leash dog parks in the nation, the popular Point Isabel.
San Pablo Avenue (California State Route 123) is one of the East Bay’s oldest streets and is a major thoroughfare filled with a variety of shops, restaurants, recreation, services, and more. The heart of the portion that travels through Richmond begins at Macdonald Avenue and continues north before entering the City of San Pablo. On either side of the street you’ll find an eclectic mix of dining options and small businesses, including Richmond’s popular Catahoula Coffee Company, which is a Bay Area A List “Best Coffee Shop” winner.
